MSX Info Update 2007 Mannerheimintie 5 A viides kerros, 15.9 12:00 - 16.9 12:00

UUTTA Viimehetken ajatukset vielä aikataulusta:

Elikkä klo:12 avataan ovet ja pistetään kahvit tulemaan. Autamme myös tarvittaessa kasailemaan koneita, virittelemään sähköjä jne.

Siinä suunnilleen kahden aikoihin rupeamme satunnaisesti näyttämään vanhoja demoja.

Kello 16 Prodatron esittelee ObsoNet verkkokorttia käytännössä. Tämän jälkeen vuorossa on SymbOS:n esittely. Keskustelua / kysymyksiä

Tämän jälkeen suunnilleen kello 17 lavalle astuu Dvik pyörittämään demoshowta. Keskustelua / kysymyksiä

ilta jatkuu uusien ohjelmien ja vanhojen demojen merkeissä. Suunnilleen kello 20 pidetään helikopteri kilpailu. Pistä nimi listaan ajoissa jos haluat mukaan.

Pelaaminen ym. aktiviteetti jatkuu aamuun asti. Ovet suljetaan kun viimeinen on poistunut, viimeistään kello: 12

MSX Info Update on täällä taas ja taas pistetään paremmaksi. Tässä muutamia syitä tulla paikalle:

Dvik saapuu USA:sta näyttämään uusia MSX demojaan jotka hän on tehnyt yhdessä Joyrexin kanssa. Nämä demot on tehty alkuperäiselle MSX1:lle ja ovat saaneet syystä huomiota osakseen. Dvik on ansioitunut myös BlueMSX emulaattorin pääkehittäjänä.

Prodatron saapuu Saksasta näyttämään uusinta versiota kehittämästään SymbOS käyttöjärjestelmästä. Pakko sanoa, että vuodessa on kyllä tapahtunut ihmeitä joten tämä on takuulla näkemisen arvoista. Näytämme mm. kuinka MP3 tiedostot toistuvat SymAmp ohjelmalla (WinAmp kopio SymbOS:lle)

Meillä on myös myynnissä UUSIA MSX t-paitoja perinteeksi muodostuneella Osta / Myy pöydällä. Rullaa vähän alaspäin nähdäksesi millaiseksi kyseisen paidan kuvittelen. Kuva painetaan silkkipaino menetelmällä laadukkaalle Fruit of the loom paidalle, joten sen pitäisi kestää hyvin. Hinta tulee olemaan 15 euroa.

Viimevuonna Tambet toi Eestistä näytille Adventurer ja Phobos pelit. Tänävuonna saimme luvan päästää nämä pelit vapaaseen levitykseen ja nyt pelit on myös korjattu toimimaan muillakin koneilla kuin vain Venäjältä kotoisin olevilla.

Iltasella olisi sitten tarkoitus järjestää vähän muutakin nörteille sopivaa ohjelmaa. :-) Tällä hetkellä mielessä on lähinnä laskeutumis kilpailu maailman pienimmällä kauko-ohjattavalla helikopterilla.

Luonnollisesti viimeaikoina ilmestyneet demot pyöritämme läpi, mutta sen lisäksi olemme keränneet vähemmän nähtyjä Eurooppalaisia demoja 80-90 luvuilta jonkinlaiseksi "unohdetut demot" showksi. Enimmäkseenhän nämä olivat erilaisia tekstiscrollereita, mutta onnistuimme löytämään muutamia sellaisia, joissa oli jotain muutakin katsomista. :-)

Party paikka on tänävuonna ihan Helsingin keskustassa. Paikka on myös suurempi kuin viimevuonna joten mahdumme varmaan paremmin tälläkertaa. Tapahtuma on edelleen maksuton. Suosittelen saapumaan lauantaina puolen päivän aikaan. Paikalla voi olla Sunnuntaihin puoleenpäivään asti jonka jälkeen ovet suljetaan.
 
Osoite on Mannerheimintie 5 A viides kerros. Google Earth koordinaatit löytyy tästä. Jos otat MSX:äsi mukaan tulet todennäköisimmin tarvitsemaan apua, sähköä, pöytätilaa jne. Otathan siis yhteyttä etukäteen jotta osaamme varautua. Emme pistä ollenkaan pahaksemme sitäkään, jos otat yhteyttä ihan muuten vaan. Näin saat ainakin nimesi listalle niin, että seuraavillakaan kerroilla et pääse jäämään pois vahingossa. Suosittelemme muuten lämpimästi MSX:n mukaan ottamista jos sellainen löytyy.

NEW Last minute thoughts about time shedule:

At 12:00 doors will be open for quests. We turn coffee maker on and help people to build their MSX setups.

About 14:00 we start showing old demos.

At 16:00 Prodatron introduces ObsoNet network card. After that he will continue with SymbOS introduction. Feel free to ask questions.

After this about 17:00 Dvik starts his part of the demo show. Feel free to ask questions.

Evening continues with new programs and old demos...

At about 20:00 we have helicopter flying contest. Remember to sign in if you want to join.

Games etc. activity will continue over the night. Doors will be closed when last person has left, but at 12:00 at latest.

MSX Info Update is here again and this time it's bigger and better. Here are some of the highlights:

Dvik is coming from USA to show us new MSX demos that he has made together with Joyrex. These very good quality demos are made for original MSX computers. Dvik is well known also as main developer of BlueMSX emulator.

Prodatron is coming from Germany to show the latest version of multitasking SymbOS operating system that he has made. I can tell that it has come a long way since last year. We are for example going to show MSX playing MP3-files on SymAmp. (SymbOS version of WinAmp) This is definitely something you like to see if you are MSX fan. :-)

We are also going to have NEW MSX t-shirts for sale on the traditional Buy / Sell table. Scroll up to see what I think it will look like. The picture will be silk pressed to good quality Fruit of the loom t-shirt so that it will last. Price will be 15€.

The Adventurer and Phobos games that Tambet last year took with him from Estonia are going to be released this year as free to distribute version that work on other than Russian MSX as well.

In the evening we have plans to have some other nerd activity as well like landing competition with worlds smallest remote controlled helicopter. :-)

Naturally we are going to show latest demos, but we have also collected a list of less known European demos that have been made last century as "forgotten demos" show. Most of these demos were different kind of text scrollers, but we managed to find some that have something else to see as well. :-)

Party place this year is going to be as middle of Helsinki as you can get. It is also bigger than last year, so I guess that we will fit better this time. :-) There is no entrance fee to the party. I hope that you would arrive saturday at about 12:00 you can stay next 24 hours if you like to.
 
Address is Mannerheimintie 5 A 5th floor. Google Earth coordinates are here. If you take your MSX with you, you are most probably going to need help, power, table etc. so please contact us earlier. If you are interested about this happening it is not bad idea to send us a mail even if you are not coming. This way you'll get info also in the future. BTW we recommend you to take MSX with you if you have one.
